Kleman at Noble Store: French craftsmanship with its own character
Noble Store welcomes a new brand: Kleman. The French label has its roots in the workwear and work shoes of the 1980s, but has since carved out a permanent place in the world of heritage footwear and distinctive lifestyle shoes. Kleman makes shoes that you won't immediately find in just any display rack, and that is exactly why they find a good home at Noble Store in Bree. The first delivery brings two versions of the iconic Padror and a corduroy loafer. Below is everything you need to know about the three models.
Anyone who knows Kleman knows the Padror. It is the model with which the brand built its reputation and that still forms the core of its range today. The Padror is a moc-toe derby: a shoe with a stitched toe that refers to the moccasin construction, combined with a lace-up closure and a thick, lugged sole that does not hide its workwear past. The brass eyelets, the robust stitched construction and the leather that wants to be well cared for: this is a shoe made to last for years and that gets better with time.
What makes the Padror interesting in a contemporary context is precisely that distinctiveness. It is not a sneaker pretending to be more, nor a formal shoe trying to seem approachable. The Padror is completely itself, and therefore fits into the current interest in authentic craftsmanship and shoes with a story behind their construction.
At Noble Store, the Padror is available in two colorways. The Kleman Padror Noir is the most direct version: black leather, black sole, gold eyelets. Clean, strong and easy to wear with both a dark and a neutral outfit. This is the Padror for those who want to get to know the shoe without letting color play a factor.
The Kleman Padror Marron Noir takes a warmer turn: a dark brown leather that is close to black but reveals its rich brown hue in certain light. Marron Noir is a color with depth. It pairs well with earthy colors, autumn palettes and the kind of clothing that also suits a brand like Gramicci. If you are torn between the two: the Noir is more timeless, the Marron Noir is warmer and more distinctive.
Alongside the Padror, the first Kleman delivery at Noble Store also brings the Kleman Escale V Cord Kaki. Where the Padror is built on structure and robustness, the Escale opts for a different tone. It is a penny loafer in corduroy, a ribbed corduroy fabric that gives texture and warmth to a silhouette that feels both classic and seasonal. The khaki color, a muted olive beige, blends seamlessly with the current autumn and winter palettes.
The Escale is a shoe for those who want something softer alongside the powerful Padror. The loafer shape is approachable, the corduroy finish is unexpected and the whole has a relaxed elegance that works well with both trousers and a skirt. A piece that stands out on the street without losing its calm.
Why Noble Store chooses Kleman
Kleman fits the way Noble Store puts together its range: brands that have something to say, shoes that go beyond the obvious and quality that justifies its price. Just as we consciously chose Mercer Amsterdam in the sneaker segment, with Kleman we choose a shoe brand that is not in every store but is the perfect find for the right customer.
This is the first delivery and more will follow. All three models are now available at Noble Store in Bree and via the webshop. Feel free to stop by to hold and try on the Padror, because this is a shoe you have to get to know with your own hands.
